We have selected Stephanie Cole to be our ‘Designer of the Month’ for March. She is a British designer-maker.
Stephanie gained a first class degree in Surface Pattern Design at Swansea Metropolitan University in 2010. Having achieved this fantastic qualification, she decided to set up her own business and ‘Stephanie Cole Design’ was created.
Her key inspirations for her designs are farmer’s markets, British hedgerows, thought- provoking proverbs and words of wisdom. Having spent a significant amount of time in Finland, Scandinavian design also became a strong influence on her artwork. Stephanie now lives in Finland and loves being so close to Helsinki which was awarded the title of ‘World Design Capital’ in 2012.
The wonderful illustrations which she designs are used to produce lovely screen printed home textiles and prints. Some of her products include tea towels, bags and aprons.
Stephanie has been voted as one of the ‘Top 10 Makers to Watch and Invest in’ by Channel 4. We are definitely keeping an eye on her and you should too! If you would like to take a look at her website, please visit: www.stephaniecole.co.uk
