The Royal Yacht Britannia – Stuart heads north
Stuart Morris’s Family originate from Aberdeen so he is always happy to return to beautiful Scotland where he feels completely at home.
He was thrilled to be visiting two of our wonderful customers in sunny Edinburgh last week. A buyer at The Royal Yacht Britannia and the very talented botanical artist Heather Raeburn.
The Royal Yacht Britannia is one of the most famously recognised ships in the world despite the fact she has no name displayed on her side. She dutifully served the Royal Family for over 44 years and is now a five-star visitor attraction berthed at Leith in Edinburgh.
In May 2016 the Royal Yacht will have been in Edinburgh for 18 years. To celebrate this occasion we have been asked to create a stunning new tea towel design to feature the yacht and the cityscape.
Stuart Morris Textiles has worked alongside the Royal Yacht Britannia for many years and are proud to have a variety of items on display in their unique gift shop. Denise (Diz) Andrews, our chief artist has created many fantastic designs for the shop which we have printed onto silk scarves, tote bags and a wide range of tea towels. Diz was delighted when commissioned to design a set of tableware which included a limited edition plate, inspired by the ships crest and artefacts. The stunning range is called the ‘Diamond Collection’ and was created to honour the Royal Yachts 60th Anniversary in 2013.

Whilst in Edinburgh, Stuart took time to visit another great customer and friend Heather Raeburn. Heather is one of Scotland’s most talented botanical artist’s who’s work we reproduce onto custom tea towels. Heathers intricate work is marketed by The Royal Botanic Gardens and the National Trust for Scotland among others.
