Designer of the month: Courtney Davis
Courtney Davis was born in South Wales, a native of Celtic country. Courtney has regularly exhibited in Europe, America and Japan and moved to Tara, Ireland in July 2014. He exhibits and creates his art from The Hill Of Tara Open Studio.
Through 40 years dedication as a self-taught artist Courtney has produced some extraordinary art which has been featured in over 50 books. His art is an expression of the ancient symbols, myths and legends of the Celtic culture and he creates his images through the inspiration of the Celtic Spirit.
His paintings are in gouache and ink with such vibrant treatment of colour and intricacy, and true composition interpret the ancient culture in a contemporary style that we love.
Tara Open Studio opened in July 2014 and within its first year the events held there mounted and now there can be at least 26 events running in just 1 month. With this ongoing growth it was evolved into Anam Na Teamhrach which started early 2016. This is a space just behind the gallery that people can run various events, exhibitions, craft shows and even festivals.
